Ethiopian-Australian songbird Mahalate Teshome is ready to break out of her shell and take a big step forward in achieving her dreams as a singer
Despite having very limited performance experience, the 18-year-old’s natural ability saw her land a coveted spot on the Australian talent show The Voice, which stars coaches Ricky Martin, Delta Goodrem, Jessie J and brothers Joel and Benji Madden.
Both the Madden brothers and Jessie J spun their chairs around when they heard Teshome sing, meaning she had to decide which coach’s team she wanted to join.
But Teshome admitted she had her heart set on the UK pop star from the beginning.
“I had it in my mind as soon as I found out that Jessie was a coach. I knew I was going to go with her definitely,” she explained toAAA .
“She told me I need to work on confidence and that’s something I hope to develop with her. I was definitely a bit starstruck but I’m looking forward to working with her.” … READ MORE
