Genzebe Dibaba breaks 1500 meters world record in Monaco – 17 July 2015

IAAF – The Herculis meeting ended, as is tradition, with a pyrotechnic show on the infield. But the real fireworks at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Monaco on Friday (17) came on the track about 50 minutes earlier. Genzebe Dibaba achieved what many had believed to be unachievable, breaking the 1500m world record with a time of 3:50.07.

Ethiopian Airlady Weyzero Muluemebet Imru

I have already shared a brief story of the first Ethiopian Air lady Weyzero Muluemebet Emrua a few months ago. However I didn’t have a clear image of her to show how she looked like in her life time. Now here she is seen gracefully as typical Ethiopian ሴትወይዘሮ as she once was.

Make no mistake, that the daring Air lady Muluembet was not the first licensed female pilot in Ethiopian history at all. But she is the first woman ever to seize the giant aircraft from the ground and descended toward the blue roof of heaven in the year 1936.

So saying she is the first historical Ethiopian lady ever to jump the boundary and to take such risk above the air in the time when women were given the least attention, and when every thing was price tagged under the name of men is fair.

Please visit my page for more information about her. And also don’t forget to check the educational comments of friends regarding her historical contribution. – Eduardo Byronoboardboardboardboardboardboardboardboardboardboard

Archaeologists discovered the Ethiopian gold mine that may have supplied the Queen of Sheba with her riches

In 2012, a team of British archaeologists discovered an enormous gold mine in northern Ethiopia, along with a nearby battlefield and the ruins of a temple. The site is located on the high Gheralta plateau and the archaeologists knew it was once part of the realm of Sheba from the 20ft stone stele carved with the image of the sun and crescent moon – the emblem of Sheba. … Continue reading: http://www.ancient-origins.net/history-famous-people/ethiopian-gold-mine-may-have-supplied-queen-sheba-her-riches-003261boardboardboardboardboard

Gelada monkeys, which only live in the Simien Mountains, are a completely intriguing species. They’re the only grass-grazing monkeys left, and of all primates, have one of the most varied range of sounds, from high-pitched cries to gurgling that sounds almost like human speech.
