Protoje has released the official video for “Love Overflow,” filmed in Addis Ababa with young women from Addis Girls Skate.
DancehallMag says he spent a day skating through Ethiopia’s capital with the Addis Girls Skate crew, and that the shoot was made possible through Ethiopia Skate. Reggae.fr says he filmed for one day in the streets of the capital with the young skaters from the collective.
DancehallMag names Samokush as the director and Fernando F. Hevia as the person who shot the film. In that account, Protoje describes “unbridled fun and freedom through the eyes of these young Ethiopian ladies moving through their city.”
Reggae.fr points to a line in the song that asks who is planting the trees, and says Protoje treats those trees as youth. The same piece says Ethiopia holds an important place in the world of the album, a point he discussed with Reggae.fr in a spring interview.
“Love Overflow” is on his seventh studio album, The Art of Acceptance. Madd A Road Media says the album was released in April through In.Digg.Nation Collective under exclusive licence to Ineffable Records. Ineffable Records’ Bandcamp page lists the album date as April 17, 2026. Madd A Road Media names Winta James, Ziah .Push, and Protoje as the producers of the song.
The official video is on Protoje’s YouTube channel under the title “Protoje – Love Overflow (Official Video).”
