Ethiopian designer and digital artist Solome Kiflu took her brand Xufan to Africa Fashion Week London 2026, and the looks were hard to miss.
Xufan means “throne” in Amharic. The label mixes Ethiopian history with sci-fi vibes, gaming culture, Japanese aesthetics, and streetwear. Solome treats each collection like a small world, not just clothes on a rack.
The brand is backed by the British Council Creative DNA 2026 programme. Solome is also part of the Creative DNA x Studio Smithfield residency, linking designers from the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Xufan already got love at Hub of Africa Addis Fashion Week and other creative platforms. At AFWL 2026 (Aug 22-23 in London), it kept pushing that futuristic Ethiopian story on the runway.
