Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) said that Ethiopia, as a sovereign state with the capacity to manage its own internal affairs, will wrap up rule of law enforcement operation in Tigray State soon by ending the prevailing impunity.
In his Tweet yesterday, the Premier further stated that concerns that Ethiopia will descend into chaos are unfounded and it is resulted from lack of understanding of the country’s context. Ethiopia is grateful for friends expressing their concern and the rule of law operation is aimed at guaranteeing peace and stability once and for all by bringing perpetrators of instability to justice.
In related development, Abiy dispatched a video message to the international community in that he has called on them to realize the consistent transgression by the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF’s) clique that have led the Federal government to execute the ongoing law enforcement operation.

TPLF has made an attack on the Northern Command of National Defense Force based in the Tigray State. Following this, the Federal government has started enforcement of law and order. The Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) has kept on pursuing counteroffensive and is taking control of strategic places while advancing to other areas said ENDF Chief of Staff Gen. Berhanu Jula.

Gen. Berhanu said the northern command of the army that had been cut off from food and water supplies for five days, reorganized itself and has continued securing various areas.
The forces that were under siege of the TPLF destructive group; 7th Mechanized, 8th Mechanized, 23rd Army Division, 11th Army Division, 31st Army Division, 20th Army Division, 4th Mechanized, 5th Mechanized, were all members of the Northern Command, he told ENA.
